If you have any problems, questions, ideas or complaints about this forum, please post here, and I'll see what I can do.

Maybe you should make a part of this forum for staff only (not all members) where we can discuss people who we might want to recruit and stuff we don't want the general public to see. Also, sometime soon we should start a blog for the game. This way we could tease show the public concept art and pictures of gameplay and other updates for the game.

I wonder who would be included as staff but not members though.
Anyone who is a member but doesn't have the same access as other members might be offended.

I think it's possible to create blogs within this forum. Do you think it's better to do that, or have a blog on a separate site?

Well, a staff forum isn't generally needed yet, since from what I see all people on this forum plan on helping the game. In the future, when the game becomes more popular (if it does), we don't want all members [people who are just here to learn about and/or play the game (if it is out yet)] to be able to view the scenes you are writing and play downloadable builds (unless we do a beta or something) and other "staff-only info". As for the blog, it depends whether we want ease of use to find it or better quality. Making a blog from the forum will make it easier to find (people won't have to browse through the forum to find a link for it) however it will generally have less quality and so far only people who are planning to help the game have joined the forums, so why would we put the blog on here? Making the blog on another website (my favorite blog-creator is wordpress.com, it is easy and free) results in better quality (and is more "available" to our audience) but is not as easy to find. The blog is not for us "makers" of the game but is for the audience, so whichever one you think suits them best is what we should do.

Hmm, I'm very motivated with the game creation, but not so much with blogging. I could see that being something I would neglect after a while.

Oh and about the game creation, it may look like I'm working slow, but I'm working on many things behind the scenes. I've been working through some story ideas, trying to organize practice scripts for the voice actors, testing out different programming ideas, getting photos that may be altered to use as backgrounds, doing research on things that may end up in the game, etc. Just don't want anyone to think I'm just doing a little work every couple of days.

I didn't think you were doing little work every few days...
Anyways a blog is pretty much REQUIRED (not really) later in the development cycle when you are advertising the game and trying to get the game popular. Once our game finds its audience, the extreme fans will like to learn about the early development process (especially unused ideas, scenes which were never made, finished or were just not put in the game, and unused characters) and a blog post from a while ago is the easiest way to do that (it is much easier than browsing through the old forums). You don't necessarily have to post on the blog a lot as there are other team members who can. Including, one post a week is far more than enough, even if you are the only one who posts that week. We also don't want to overcrowd the blog with posts, as that makes it seem messy and un-proffesional. My recommend amount of posts per month on a month with little-to no progress (or no interesting progress) should only have one or two posts, and in month where a lot of progress is made(that is interesting) should have two to four posts. The posts people care about the most are Character Information (and art of the characters) and April Fools Jokes. tongue (I can totally see one where we pretend the game is going to offer more languages to learn for an extra price and some fake characters. I know it is a long way until next April, but can I be the "maker" of the April Fools jokes?)

I can understand the logic, but at the moment I'd prefer people to write content for the game rather than about it.

Interesting project. I can't join because I'm busy, but I would like to drop a quick comment.

This game reminds me of Go! Go! Nippon!, which I have already played through. If you guys are interested I can forward you some ideas from that title.

Good luck with your project.

I heard about that title, but I haven't played it myself.
And yes, any ideas would be very welcome.
